Notice on the Launch of Biometric Visa

In accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and international practices, the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea will launch biometric visa and collect fingerprint information from applicants for Chinese visas from 1 December , 2022.

1. The following persons are exempt from collecting fingerprints:

(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

(2) Holders of diplomatic passports or those who meet China's diplomatic, official and courtesy visa requirements;

(3) Applicants who have had their fingerprints taken at Chinese embassies or consulates abroad or visa application centers with the same passport within 5 years and have been issued visas;

(4) Applicants whose ten fingers are incomplete or whose ten fingerprints cannot be collected.

2.The applicant should personally come to the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea to collect fingerprints. Forgery or other people pretending to leave fingerprints will result in the applicant being refused to enter China, and the legal consequences arising therefrom will be borne by the applicant.

3. The Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea reminds visa applicants to fill in the form online (website: https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn), download and print the application form (full form) and sign on the confirmation page, and submit the above materials together with your passport and other application materials to the Chinese Embassy.
