On March 12, the Chinese Embassy in PNG held “China’s Global Initiatives and China-PNG Cooperation” symposium. Ambassador Yang Xiaoguang delivered a keynote speech. Representatives from PNG’s major political parties, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of National Planning, National Trade Office, University of PNG, media and other agencies attended.

Ambassador Yang explained the significance, core concepts and practical measures of the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, introduced the major achievements of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the 2025 annual sessions of China’s National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He said that China stands ready to work with PNG to implement the Three Global Initiatives in PNG to achieve more cooperation results, and jointly promote stability and development in the region.

The Participants of the PNG side commended and expressed strong support to China’s Three Global Initiatives. They thanked China for its support for PNG's economic and social development, and said that PNG firmly adheres to the one-China principle and looks forward to deepening cooperation with China in various fields to the greater benefit of the people of the two sides.
